Flower opinions needed! In my wedding, I want to use red Gerber daisies in my bridesmaids arrangements?

Submitted by TUNA_BURGER
But…. I need some ideas for the boutonnieres for the guys. If they use gerbers daisies – I think they will look like clowns. You know, the ones that squirt water. I am not a fan of roses – but am open to any other flower. Thanks for your opinion! :)

  1. I understand what you are saying about clowns, it made me laugh! If you use gerbra daisies for your bridesmaids, considering miniature gerbra daisies for the groomsmen. This way, they still match, but do not look like clowns! I think it would look classy. Maybe a tiny bunch of three.

sidenote: nothing against other people’s oppinion, but carnations are a bit overdone.

  2. red is limited in flowers for the bouts

    carns, minicarns,glad florettes

ask your florist for suggestions, look at the wedding books

  3. Are you opposed to carnations? They’re inexpensive and very pretty IMO. The poppy is a good, clean, simple red flower guys can appreciate, too.

  4. Gerber daisies are beautiful – great choice. For the boutonnieres you could do mini Gerber daisies, or if you do not want to do that you could try: a dark red calla lily (beautiful flowers) red carnation or an orchid.

    Good luck and congrats!
here is a site with some boutonniere photos to check out:

  5. I agree about the clown thing, I got a chuckle out of that one. I agree that a Carnation is nice. I really depends on what flowers are in season. Here are a few suggestions:
Chrysanthemum, Hydrangea, or Orchids. There are also mixed follage boutonnieres that don’t have any flowers but still look nice. Good Luck & Congrats

  6. I like a few little roses, not one big one -
    This is classic -
Carns are nice and last long. Our guys wore four small ones -
The following pic is a corsage, but the asters look similar to gerberas, but are smaller and you could probably get them in the right shade of red -
