Silk Wedding Flowers- Why Have Fresh When you Can Have Silk?
Stacey-Anne Thomas Head Florist at Flowerworks, Gloucester comments: ?As a designer for both fresh and artificial wedding flowers, I can see why silks are taking centre stage, especially over the winter months when some popular fresh flowers are not widely available. Although they do not have the same scents and delicateness of real flowers, silk flowers last forever, so the bride can have a lasting momentum of her day, plus they are much more sturdy than fresh flowers and will take more brutality, for example when being carried by a young child. At Flowerworks, we price our fresh and artificial flowers arrangements the same, although silk flowers are more expensive to buy than fresh, the costs of preparing and looking after fresh flowers makes up for this.?
Flower Fashion
The latest trends in wedding flowers are followed closely by Flowerworks, and they will always let you know what?s hot and what?s not:
Spring/Summer 08: Roses are going to be everywhere, especially in pinks and whites. Attention to detail is key, with diamantes and feathers.
Autumn/Winter 08: Plenty of dark red and white is around, giving a festive feel. Whilst the hand tied bouquet has been very popular until now, the cascading bouquet is taking over and providing a bold focal point.
Flowerworks provide beautiful fresh and silk wedding flowers covering the Midlands and South West England. For more information visit www.flowerworksuk.com or call 0871 288 7284
