Floral Wedding Reception Centerpiece Ideas

Submitted by Vicki Churchill
Most weddings are arranged to take place in the summer months, this is because the sun is shining and the flowers are in full bloom making them readily available and easy to purchase.

The wedding bouquet is probably the most important flower arrangement and will need plenty of time to plan and arrange, the wedding bouquet is an arrangement of flowers that the bride will carry. The flowers chosen for this will fit the theme of the overall wedding.

Because flowers are greatly used when it comes to weddings you may find yourself looking for floral wedding reception centerpiece ideas. The best place to start is the internet as there are many sites that will give you numerous floral wedding reception centerpiece ideas.

Most floral wedding reception centerpiece ideas will be small arrangements of flowers that will be placed on each table. You will need to consider the theme and colours of the wedding decoration so that you choose flowers to compliment and fit in with the wedding theme.

When looking for floral wedding reception centerpiece ideas it is important to understand sizes and where large displays are appropriate and where they are not. The larger floral displays should not be placed on your guests tables, they would be better suited on larger tables such as the buffet or cake table. Your guest tables would look better with a smaller display of flowers, something that is in keeping with the larger ones but on a smaller scale.

You do not always have to use flowers for your floral wedding reception centerpiece ideas, if you are on a budget then you could have a few large displays on the larger tables and keep the guests tables very simple. Scattering a few flower petals is a very simple and cost effective way to brighten up any table.

Flower can be expensive especially if you are having the arrangement done by a florist, if you have anyone in your family or a friend who might be able to make the arrangements it is worth spending some time talking through your floral wedding reception centerpiece ideas to see if it is something they can help you with. Having someone else create the floral designs could save you an enormous amount of money.

Planning ahead is always a good idea, check that the flowers you desire are in season and will be available for your wedding, spend sometime looking on the internet and through magazines to get a really good idea of what you want.

When you have a few floral wedding reception centerpiece ideas in mind then you need to fine a reportable florist, speak to other brides asking them for any recommendations or if they know someone you will be happy with and that you can trust to suit all your needs.

Inexpensive Wedding Centerpieces – Three Elegant Choices

Submitted by Stephen Badiali
At some point during your wedding planning you will probably realize (if you haven’t already) that weddings aren’t cheap, and you may be forced to make difficult budgetary decisions.

There are many ways to cut costs out of your wedding budget. For example, you can choose not to give out wedding favors, limit the choices at the open bar to beer and wine and choose elegant, inexpensive wedding centerpieces.

The key is to find inexpensive wedding centerpieces that fit into your overall wedding theme without coming off as cheap and tacky. With a little thought you can make this happen.

Here are three ideas for elegant, inexpensive wedding centerpieces:

Alternative Floral Arrangements

The most popular choices for wedding centerpieces contain flowers in some way. If you have talked to any florists, you will quickly find out that you have to pay a premium to have the beauty that flowers can bring to a wedding reception.

Instead of real flowers, consider silk floral arrangements. These aren’t the silk flowers that your grandmother has from the seventies. Silk floral arrangements today are created by artists, and honestly they are sometimes more beautiful than the real thing.

Dried flowers are another possibility. Many times they are less expensive than fresh flowers, and you can also combine them with silk or select fresh flowers.

Lastly, if you have a few close friends or family members helping out you can create your own floral arrangements to use as your centerpieces.

Candles Can Set The Mood

Another option for inexpensive wedding centerpieces is taper displays. Take three or four tapers of different size and put them on a decorative plate or other holder.

Tapers come in all shapes and colors, so it should be easy to match the color of your wedding. You can also add a few silk or dried flowers to the centerpiece for added effect.

Hurricane Vases Are Versatile

Hurricane vases are elegant and practical, and you can do many things with them. They can be found at many craft stores and online for only a few dollars each.

Take the hurricanes and fill them with an object that compliments your overall wedding theme. For example, tapers or pillar candles work really well. Wrap ribbon or silk flowers around the base, and you have the perfect inexpensive wedding centerpiece.

Other things to put in a hurricane include stones, water with a single Gerber daisy, coffee beans and just about anything you can think of that goes with your wedding.

It is easy to get overwhelmed when planning a wedding, especially the financial end of things. With a little thought you can trim some of those costs by making creative and smart choices about your centerpieces.

Submerged Flower Wedding Centerpieces

Submitted by Bridget Mora
The centerpieces are one of the most important parts of the wedding reception. They are the design element that will really set the tone for the whole affair. If you are looking for wedding centerpieces that are fresh, modern, and surprisingly affordable, consider displays of submerged flowers.

Brides want their centerpieces to be big, beautiful, and showy, and yet sometimes will find it to be prohibitively expensive to have enormous floral displays. After all, think about how many flowers go into just one large floral centerpiece, and then multiply that by ten or more tables, and suddenly you will find yourself with enough flowers to stock and entire florist shop! It can be particularly tricky to balance style and budget when you fall in love with one of the pricier blooms.

There is, however, a very chic way to get impressive looking centerpieces without totally blowing your budget. One of the hottest wedding trends right now is to fill tall clear cylinders with water, and then have the florist submerge flowers in the vessels. It is a unique concept, and yet it is truly beautiful when you see the finished effect. The best part is that you only need a few flowers per cylinder, since it is a narrow space.

Many favorite wedding flowers will work very well in submerged centerpieces. Tulips, orchids, berries, and amaryllis are all excellent choices, and they come in beautiful colors. Speaking of colors, with this type of arrangement, it is best to keep the look monochromatic for the cleanest effect. It is a modern chic style of centerpiece, so you want to keep it as unfussy as possible.

Once you have chosen a type of flower, you can get creative with the details. For instance, for a truly striking table, use multiple cylinders in varying heights in the center. You can either use the same kind of flower in each vase, or choose different flowers in the same color palette. Orchids are one of the most popular choices for submerged flower centerpieces, and they are available in some fabulous colors.

You can also choose to add some detail to the vessels, in the form of a decorative element at the bottom of each vase. For a Zen look, “plant” your flowers in a mound of smooth black pebbles in the bottom of the cylinders (which could also be rectangular, by the way). If you are going for an opulent evening look, then Swarovksi crystals make a fantastic element in the bottom of your vessels. These are the same crystals that are found in fabulous crystal bridal jewelry, and they will look amazing when the candlelight bounces off of them underwater. You can choose to match the color of the crystal used in your bridal jewelry, or go for a bold choice like deep red.

There are a few more ways to customize your centerpieces. Candles can be floated in the water on top of the flowers for a very pretty spa effect. For brides who want to have spectacular wedding centerpieces, and are willing to splurge, the ultimate in high style is to set a full floral arrangement on top of a submerged floral display. With so many ways to design them, submerged floral centerpieces are one wedding trend that is here to stay.

Fall Wedding Themes Ideas for a Romantic Wedding

Autumn is quite a popular choice when it comes to seasonal weddings. This can be attributed to the fact that nature just bursts with very vibrant colors that any wedding becomes even more beautiful! And you can use this invigorating change of colors to your benefit! Still, you can go beyond relying on these usual changes that come with autumn. There is because there are fall wedding themes that you can use for your own wedding. With the many options, you have to find the answer to this important question: which of these fall wedding themes appeals to you?

Delicious Apples

Autumn is the ultimate season for picking apples. You can incorporate this very fulfilling event into your wedding. It is actually very easy to do this. The simple act of adding apples into just about everything for your wedding is more than enough. Think wedding favors and wedding decorations for a minute here. You can place a plate of apples and apple slices for every table for your guests. You can also make use of apple candles with candle holders that are shaped like apples as well. And if that is not enough, you can serve your guests apple pie, apple cider, apple sauce, and other delicious apple treats!

Pretty Pumpkins

When autumn hits, you definitely have two holidays to look forward to: Halloween and Thanksgiving. For both holidays, the pumpkin is definitely a mainstay in any household. If you plan to hold your wedding during the fall, then you can make use of pumpkin items for your wedding decorations and wedding favors. For instance, you can serve your guests boxes of pumpkin cookies, or chocolates in the shape of pumpkins. You can also adorn your place of reception with decorations in different shades of yellow and orange. When you add dark green or chocolate brown to these colors, it actually makes the perfect combination for a pumpkin-themed wedding.

Grapes, Wine, and Vineyard

The shades of green, purple, and red are very important when you want to go for this theme. There are just so many things you can do with grapes, wine, and vineyard themes. For starters, you can use fruit displays of grapes for every guest table you are having. They make great centerpieces as well. As for wedding favors, you can go for wine glass charms, wine goblet card holders, and even wine stoppers. As for your wedding decorations, you can use vines to give that romantic ambiance of being in a vineyard.

So, which of these fall wedding themes appeals to you? Whatever you choose, just remember to discuss this with your partner and your families so that you can also get their input on the matter.

DIY Wedding Centerpieces – The Personal Touch For Your Wedding Decoration

Submitted by Chris Lexau
So how do you find the perfect DIY centerpiece? First of all you have to determine the style of your wedding decoration: is it modern? Elegant? Minimalistic? Exuberant? What are your wedding colours? An easy way to get yourself inspired is browsing sites like The Knot or bridal magazines, see what you like and then adapt the style. Try to think outside the box, visit your local dollar store and see what they have got that could work for you. Here are some ideas:

For a spring wedding get simple rectangular or square glass bowls (or any similar container with a colour that pairs well with fresh green), fill them with soil from a garden-store and sow wheat grass or something similar. Once it has grown, you have a wonderful base for any kind of spring decoration: single flowers in bright colors, eggs, little toy animals… The possibilities are endless!

For a beach wedding get clear glass bowls, fill with sand or pebbles, add sea shells from a dollar store (or your last beach holiday) and add a big pillar candle as a center. Compliment with smaller candles in clear glass candle holders (you can get very inexpensive ones at Amazon or at dollar stores).

For an oriental type of decoration spray-paint plain branches in white or bright red. Fold some origami birds and add. Compliment with matching paper lanterns and use the wedding favors (chop sticks, fans, Chinese style little money pouches) as part of the decoration.

For a fall wedding use what nature has to offer: pumpkins in different sizes (you can get baby sized ones at the farmers market or in garden centers), sunflowers, leaves in bright colors (use artificial ones if you don´t feel like hiking through the woods the day before your wedding).

If you have your heart set on floral center pieces but don’t want the hassle of nursing fresh flowers up to the day of your wedding go for artificial ones. They are easier to manage and your can prepare them well in advance. If you decide on fresh flowers, enlist the help of friends and get them in bulk for wholesale prices or at a farmers market.

You see there is a plethora of possibilities when it comes to designing your diy wedding centerpieces. Just start well ahead of time to gather ideas and to get supplies.

Party Rentals Allow You to Have the Wedding Centerpiece of Your Dreams

Getting married is one of the most important events in most peoples’ lives. While you want everything to be perfect it can be very expensive to have exactly what you want in a wedding centerpiece. For some people the expense is so prohibiting that they sacrifice what they have always dreamed of for their wedding. There is a way that you can have the centerpiece of your dreams and not feel guilty about the cost. Using a party rentals service can allow you to have the perfect wedding with the centerpiece of your dreams.
The first step is deciding what you want the wedding to be center around or the theme that you want to decorate around. To make this decision think about the things that is important to you. It may be a travel destination that you fell in love with or a cause that is most important to you. Once you have decided on the theme that you want, the next step is to decide on a wedding centerpiece. The wedding centerpiece is one of the most important aspects of having others see how you feel or what you love. Party rentals can supply you with the items you need to make this happen. If you are unsure of the theme go in and talk with them for some great ideas.
Once you have chosen one for your wedding ceremony you may want the same theme to be carried from the wedding to the reception. Party rentals can furnish you with what you need for your wedding as well as helping you to carry that theme into the reception. This makes for a beautiful wedding and reception. If you have to buy all of the equipment that is needed for this type of wedding the cost would be enormous. The money you save by using party rentals could help to pay for the honeymoon. Now that is a deal!
An example of a theme that would be wonderful and totally affordable when using party rentals is one such as waterfalls. This could be carried from the wedding with the use of small waterfalls in the church to a wedding cake at the reception that has a waterfall. All of the equipment necessary for this type of wedding can be obtained from a party rental store. The cake stand and waterfall equipment for the cake can be picked up by the bakery that is making the wedding cake. With party rentals low fog machines with lots of greenery and the perfect candle holders can make this a gorgeous theme.
Party rentals have everything from arches, lighting, artificial floral for decoration, dishes and serving ware to much more like the water fountains described in the example. It is a win, win situation because you save money and don’t end up with a lot of stuff that you just want need again. You made need to check with more than one party rental store but the money that you save make it well worth your time.

Sam Stevens loves to share his knowledge on the rental industry. He often writes about leveraging the party rental industry to make your wedding reception or other event a most memorable occasion. Looking for centerpiece ideas – pictures and sites much appreciated?

My fiance and I agreed on wedding colors, light blue with chocolate for an accent color. I want to have my bridesmaids carry bouquets of light pink sweet peas (they are wearing light blue and I think it’ll look nice together, plus his nickname for me is Sweet Pea and it’ll be a cute touch). For the church and reception flowers, I want to include the sweet peas, of course, but also pull in the blue with something like blue hydrangeas or another flower that is delicate and will compliment the sweet peas.

Now, the trouble is that I want something really simple for the reception centerpieces, but which will still look elegant and will allow our guests to see each other across our round tables. Anybody have any ideas for flowers, arrangements, and so on? Websites and pictures would be really helpful, as I’ll be meeting with our florist soon to discuss options.
